Supporting Living Playwrights

Making the next generation of theatre possible.

Over the years the William Inge Foundation, in cooperation with Independence Community College, has hosted playwrights in residence at the William Inge Boyhood home. Playwrights were invited to live and work in this historic home. While in residence they also taught at a local rural school and received a developmental reading of their work.

Due to changes in NEA funding this program is currently on hold, but we’re hoping to bring it back soon. When we do, there will be an application on this page.
